Official Gmail Blog: A need for speed: the path to a faster loading sequence

Official Gmail Blog: A need for speed: the path to a faster loading sequence

I logged into Gmail and there was a new sequence. I noticed it was a little bit faster. Then I logged into my Hotmail and Excite accounts and realized just how fast Gmail really is. Compared to those two it was like broadband and dial-up.

Gmail recently commented on these changes and I must agree that Gmail has set the gold standard for speed.

Dear Gmail Teams

I don't think so Gmail is faster than before.

Gmail is NOT faster than before; actually the reverse, much slower. I never had a time bar show up before, now it is there every time I log in.

I wish there were a way to remove the blog section from the google home page. I find it ironic that it discusses increased performance and speed and all it does is make my web browser wait to load the blog information prior to the cursor showing up in the username box.

Gmail is horrible loading now on our Mac laptop (older version). It won't load at all or is very, very slow. I hope you can fix this. I am disappointed and dismayed!
